A note from Director, Tina
“I grew up in a family that practised meditation regularly. I’ve known the power of ancient Eastern healing techniques since an early age, so it was probably inevitable I’d go down this road for my business.
It was my father who inspired my passion for biology and how the body works. He introduced me to the science behind the muscles and circulation and I’ve never looked back!”

“My career path has been varied but it has all led me to where I am now.”
- I worked as an assistant to a cosmetologist. This gave me a fantastic understanding of techniques such as facial massage and lymphatic drainage massage, which can improve circulation and immunity.
- I became a mobile massage therapist and juggled this with a full-time job in retail.
- I worked in youth services and supported young people who often had complex needs and had been effectively written off. The workshops I ran improved their health and wellbeing and I saw a big transformation in their behaviour – especially when given the opportunity to meditate and perform massages on each other. This was the “lightbulb” moment that made me realise exactly how much positive impact alternative therapies can have, especially the comfort that touch can bring.
Not long after this, I took voluntary redundancy and did a lot of soul searching. What could I do that would make the best use of my skills?
So I started searching for jobs in the wellbeing space and it opened my eyes to something huge. In America, there were lots of jobs that involved massage but here in the UK? Nothing!
There was an obvious gap in the market for a wellbeing service that harnessed the power of massage and other alternative therapies to help people feel better.
I’ve now become the Director of Hands on at Work, and am looking forward to helping even more businesses recognise the importance of team wellbeing.

“Hands on at Work has one big aim: to help improve wellbeing at work.”
