Are you RED-dy… Set…Go!

Are you RED-dy… Set…Go!

For another year, the Charity Mind are proud to be continuing their partnership with RED January, an initiative that encourages you to support your mental health by doing something active every single day in January.

January is typically recognised as a tough month, RED January provides you with a goal and a focus, empowering you to start the year as you mean to go on.  Every achievement is celebrated, no matter how big or small and the RED community is there to support you every step of the way.

To date, the RED community has raised almost £1.7million and with a growing community of 65,000 REDers, you’ll never be alone!

So kick-start your 2020 in the most positive way and raise funds for Mind so together we can be active for better mental health.

What is Red January?

Challenge yourself to get active every day, your way this January.

What physical activities can I do as part of RED January?

The choice is yours!

It’s up to you how you do it!  Whether you walk, run, swim, cycle or belly dance, set your goal and enjoy support from the RED community every step, splash, pedal, swing of your hips!

You could pick something you love to do and challenge yourself to do it more often or for longer. Or pick something you have never tried and challenge yourself to stick to it for 31 days.

Running, walking, gym sessions, yoga, Pilates, cycling or swimming were the most popular activities endured in 2019 by the REDers.  They also had REDers who danced, played team sports or did a different activity every day.

How can physical activity help support your mental health?

RED January is founded on research that physical activity can have a positive impact on your mental health.

82% of REDers reported feeling significantly better physically and mentally after completing RED January 2019 according to the post-RED survey.
