It’s time to think positively

Today’s current climate is a surreal situation, that many of us never thought we would be in or see in our lifetime.  However, now is the chance for us to see the positives and change our attitudes.

Everyday negative situations can happen – we are unable to avoid them, so it’s time to learn to see the positives from the negatives..

Learn the power of positive thinking:  It will help you to stay upbeat and stay positive is invaluable in leading a healthy mind and lifestyle.

Here are a few tips we’ve put together on how you can achieve this:

Support each other

Surrounding yourself with positive people will help you stay positive when in a negative situation.

There are plenty of negative Nancy’s out there and you will do best to avoid them as their negative attitudes will only bring you down and be counterproductive to what you are trying to achieve.

What You Are Grateful For?

Take a look back, when you have been in the toughest of times, are there still things in your life that you were grateful for?

By actively recognising what you’re grateful for will help you to always have a grateful mind and heart, even when bad things happen.

Why not talk to someone about the things you are grateful for – friends, family?  Or how about keeping a gratitude diary to capture the thankfulness you have on a daily basis?

Retrain Your Mind

Are you a person who continually beats yourself up mentally?

Do you constantly question your actions?

Believe us when we say, we’ve all been there.

Retrain your brain to stop doing that to yourself. The more you talk negatively to yourself, the more that negativity will become a part of you.

Practice the power of positive thinking. Any time a negative thought comes into your mind, replace it with a positive one.  In time, this will become more natural as your brain automatically turns a negative into a positive.

Exercise Your Body And Your Mind

Exercise is an excellent way to fight the negative effects of bad situations.

Exercise is not only good for our bodies, but great for our minds – It releases those natural endorphins that make us feel better.

Getting out and about, moving around will not only keep your body in better shape, it will also improve your self-esteem for having the discipline to exercise.

Accept and Find Solutions

“The only constant in life is change”.  Change in our lives is a difficult thing to accept, what we must do is learn that it is inevitable, whether that is bad or good.  If we accept change is part of life, it can help us to relax and be more accepting – try to look for the positive aspect!

With the power of positive thinking, we can learn to put negative situations in perspective and to deal with them as they arise.

Enjoy the good!

It’s about those little things in life.  When the good moments happen to you – do you stop and recognise them?

Did you notice the sun shining today as you woke up?

The positive email you received from a colleague?

When your other half makes you a cup of tea and brings it you in bed?

When we’re busy rushing around we tend to miss the little things that bring joy into our lives.

Being so focused on what we need to do next on our to do list we completely miss good moments!  Why not take time to look around for the little things and briefly pause to savour them throughout your day?

Just wanna have fun!

Make a little time each day to engage in something fun, even if it is just a few minutes!

What are you waiting for?  Sometimes there is this idea, that having fun is a luxury most of us can’t afford – it’s more of a necessity.

Taking care of your emotional health and wellbeing by adding more fun to your day, will not only help you find positivity, but allow you to become more productive.

How about painting, riding your bike, playing a board game or reading a good book.

Reach out and stay connected…

How do you stay connected to the positive people in your life?

Like many, do you get so busy with life, where too much time goes by since you spent quality time with people you love and enjoy?

If so, try to reach out and connect with people who are a positive influence in your life.  In the current climate, how about calls, skype calls – virtual drinks?

Celebrate accomplishments

Celebrate your accomplishments!  When we get caught up in negativity we often overlook or forget to be proud of what we have accomplished. Take a few minutes to recognize your accomplishments each day.

Why not write them down, celebrate and take pride in your achievements?  This will definitely help you to increase positive energy.

Eat clean

The benefits of diet and exercise on our physical health is clear for everyone to see.  Did you know that it is also an important part of your emotional health as well?

Good, healthy, balanced nutrition and exercise will not only take care of your body but also keep you emotionally positive and happy.
