Our wonderful NHS and Care Community

Our wonderful NHS and Care Community

Hands On At Work have had a good relationship with NHS Trusts and the Care Community over the past 10 years and one which we hope will continue for years to come. Our services have been used in different ways across the UK.

Worcestershire NHS Trusts are our local Trusts and right from the beginning we have been providing staff with regular seated massage sessions across the various hospital sites. At The Princess of Wales Community Hospital there is a dedicated treatment room where we can offer both the seated and couch massages and at other sites, meeting rooms are booked where the massage chair can easily be set up. Staff find these sessions very beneficial during busy days giving them time to de-stress and feel refreshed ready to go back to work for the rest of the day.

The Wye Valley Trust in Herefordshire, University of Birmingham hospital sites at three locations and the Sandwell and West Birmingham Trust all use our services a few times a year to deliver relaxing massages for staff as part of bigger health and wellbeing events.

The Leeds and York NHS Trust arrange staff health roadshows across various sites in Leeds to provide staff with the seated massages as part of their health and wellbeing programme and which are all received with enthusiasm.

We have worked on a regular basis with the mental health service at West London NHS providing sessions at various hospital sites and at the Trust’s Headquarters. The sessions are always fully booked in advance with several teams asking when will it be their turn! The feedback we receive proves that the massages are needed and that the benefits help staff to stay at work and feel valued and appreciated. These are just a handful of the testimonials received:

“Having the workplace massage was amazing. It really helped with taking a moment to de-stress and zone out. I felt really good for the rest of the day and felt I had a different mind-set when coming back to my desk. A positive little touch to the day.”

“I found that receiving an Indian Head Massage was very beneficial to me; Increasing mobility and flexibility in my neck and shoulders and was particularly good for reducing the effects of stress and tension.  This alleviated my stress and brought a sense of tranquillity, calmness and positive wellbeing and it gave me a feeling of balance.”

“The massage session was very good, I really appreciate it. The ladies were very nice and welcoming. Working on the computer for a long time, that gives me pain on my lower back and also stiff shoulder. The massage really helped loosening my muscles and made me relax.  I enjoyed it very much and I have encouraged other colleagues to give it a try.”

We have also worked with NHS Trusts at nurses’ conferences, other London Borough NHS sites, the Royal College of Nursing for Nurses Day, a NHS streamlining conference and at the Healthcare People Management Association (the professional voice of HR in healthcare) conference in Leeds.

Hands On At Work also work with Community Care organisations providing much needed care and attention for their staff who care for people in the community and at care homes, to thank them for all their hard work and dedication in what can be very stressful and emotional situations.
