04 Sep World Mental Health Day
10th October is World Mental Health Day.
World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year with the objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilising efforts in support of mental health.
Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, however this specific day is a great way to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own wellbeing.
Every year, World Mental Health Day supports a theme and this year, the theme is suicide prevention.
Did you know that close to 800 000 people take their own life and there are many more people who attempt suicide. Every suicide is a tragedy that affects families, communities and entire countries and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind.
According to the WHO, more than 800,000 people die by suicide a year, making it the principal cause of death among people fifteen to twenty-nine years old.
